Winter Courses 2019 — 2nd Quarter

Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies commence on Monday, January 7, 2019, 6:00pm***

This course will examine the basic tenets of the Baptist Faith. There are eighteen doctrinal positions every Baptist should know. Completion of this course will clarify and distinguish the Baptist Faith from other denominational beliefs. Text: Articles of Faith, The Bible select passages, Pastoral writings.
Winter 2 quarter

This course offers itself as an excellent witness and reference resouce for youth. The cross-examine of experts who were interviewed about the evidence for Christ from the fields of science, philosophy, and history personal investigation of the Evidence and existence of Jesus.

This course cross-examines and explores how to eat, prepare, and enjoy foods that God has already prepared for us. We will engage in conversation about what “good nutrition” means, how to change our eating habits, how some foods are processed through the body, how the processing of some foods can effect your lifestyle and energy. There will be videos, internet activity, food recipes, and so much more!

This class will meet twice a month, on Saturday’s. The first class will lend itself to discussion on the tragectory of class assignments, handouts, etc.

This course offers students (husband and wives) the opportunity to study family structures, issues, concerns, problems, and dynamics. A theology of the family will be developed spiritually. Examinations of the Christian family will be examined such as preparing for Christian marriage, family roles, relationships, the Biblical Basis, distinctives and functions for the family .

“Brothers Managing Troubled Waters”
This course is designed to support the brotherhood of men of all walks of life and in all stages of life. The course will help brothers get through difficult times in their lives and maximize their faith in God and conquer their feara of failure.
We will cover four major topics over the four quarters:

*Understanding Troubled Waters
*Overcoming Troubled Waters
*Leveraging Troubled Waters

A discussion and connection of the major themes of the Bible in a comprehensive overview of the Old and New Testaments. This class will give the student an acquaintance with scripture that helps build skills in referencing, comprehension, historical analysis, and synthesis of the Old and New Testament Covenants.

“Battlefield of the Mind” by Joyce Meyer
This publication explains how people can change their lives by changing the way they think. Each lesson will reveal the impact that negative emotions can have on our mental and physical health, along with provide strategies to help overcome them.

The purpose of this class is to be able to share your faith comfortably in your own unique strength. As Christians, we believe that we can do all things through Christ who strengthen us. (Philippians 4:13).

In introvert conversation settings, the writer introduces how one can fill comfortable in talking about their faith. We will discuss and share from the word of God, biblical methods of evangelism skills that match your style, and your personality.

Dr. Bechle has designed a book to help those who are a little on the introvert side, feel mature in sharing their faith.

The Leadership Training Series is a course of study for Union Missionary Baptist Church Leaders designed to prepare individuals for ministry leadership.

Course Participant Pre-Requisites: Candidates for this training must meet three initial pre-screening criteria: 1) possess a servant’s heart; and 2) support the Pastor’s vision to prepare individuals for kingdom citizenship, service, and advancement. Next, candidates must meet seven training pre-requisites:
1. 2-years as a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church
2. Completion of the (8) New Members Orientation Classes
3. Completion of the Spiritual Gifts Classes
4. Agreement/Commitment to participate in all aspects of the full nine-month, three-phase Program.
5. Agreement/Commitment to serve where assigned by the Pastor based on one’s spiritual gifts and talents, after completion of the Program.
